Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria)
Leaves are slightly heart-shaped at the base, coming to a point at the leaf tip. Leaves are small and more numerous near the tip. Stems are rigid, 4-sided and have fine hairs on them. Leaves are oppositely arranged on the stem, usually in pairs. Flowers are bright purplish on a spike closely attached to the stem.
