Aquatic Weed Killer and the Method of Delivery

Question three in the Q+A Series from some recent correspondence between myself and a customer trying to get rid of Water Willow and Algae as well as using beneficial pond bacteria to get rid of "muck" and dead vegetation.

3- What do we use to apply these chemicals?  Our neighbor uses a Green Thumb bottle sprayer for one of the products.

Keep in mind there are potentially three products to be used in this instance.  In the case of the weeds and algae you need to wait until active growth occurs prior to application.

  1. Cutrine-Plus - The Cutrine-Plus Liquid for algae control can be mixed into any type of pump up garden sprayer. (Mix 1 oz. of Cutrine-Plus Liquid to every 9 oz. of water.) The Cutrine-Plus can also be applied with either of the two products below without counteracting each other.

  2. Aquacide Pellets - For Water Willow control, should be applied by hand in a fanning motion.  Apply the Aquacide Pellets first, wait three weeks and then start weekly applications of the AquaClear Pellets.

  3. AquaClear Pellets - Used to dissolve the dead vegetation and "muck" that has built up over the years from all the dead organic weeds and algae.

Please feel free to email me or post questions you may have and I will respond accordingly.
